Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 (based on experience)

Overview

Ultimate Staffing is partnering with a growing manufacturing client in the St. Louis area to identify a Manufacturing Project Manager / Production Supervisor with direct experience in a machine shop environment, ideally within CNC manufacturing. This role reports directly to the President and is responsible for overseeing projects from quote through production while maintaining profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of manufacturing leadership, project management, financial accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Own profit and loss responsibility for assigned manufacturing projects and customer accounts
• Manage project pricing, costing, and margins using both internal operations and external suppliers
• Support sales during the estimating, quoting, and ongoing pricing process for manufactured components
• Coordinate new project launches, ensuring clear communication of requirements between customers and internal teams
• Define production parameters for the shop floor through detailed bills of materials, routings, and documentation
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality, Engineering, and Accounting to ensure jobs are quoted accurately, routed correctly, and produced efficiently
• Oversee execution of projects to meet customer demands for quality, delivery, and cost
• Ensure production activities align with customer specifications, drawings, tolerances, and quality standards
• Maintain ownership of blueprints, pricing history, sales master files, and quality requirements
• Lead and coordinate direct reports and cross-department resources to support company and project goals
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost control, and operational performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• 2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing project management, production supervision, or operations leadership
• Direct experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment, preferably CNC machining
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and shop floor operations
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and tolerance schemes
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing costs, pricing, and profitability
• Effective leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
• Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and data-driven decision making

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machining operations and routed production environments
• Knowledge of steel or tubular steel part manufacturing
• Familiarity with CAD software
• Experience supporting or leading new product introductions or project launches
